Brewing Sustainability
Clun Brewery, a family-run craft beer business in Shropshire, UK, collaborated with Aston University's European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI) in order to reduce their carbon footprint and operational costs while maintaining the quality of their craft beer.
Through EBRI's expertise in bioenergy and sustainability, they implemented a biomass boiler system fueled by locally sourced woodchip. This system not only reduced carbon emissions and energy costs but also provided a sustainable solution for managing waste products. The collaboration between Clun Brewery and EBRI demonstrates the potential of bioenergy technologies in enhancing sustainability and reducing environmental impact for small businesses in the brewing industry.
